Goals

  • Attract, Retain, and Align Talent to meet the needs of employers and job seekers as we transition to an innovation economy.
  • Strengthen pipeline of talent for the future of our region.
  • Connect targeted talent pools to employers in partnership with Lane Workforce Partnership, Lane Community College, and the University of Oregon.

Strategies

  • Strengthen programs assisting caregivers and unhoused community members in the transition into (or back into) the workforce.
  • Improve the experience of young professionals in our region through mentoring, networking, and leadership development programs. 
  • Create an advisory Council to support young professionals choosing Greater Eugene as their long-term home.
  • Perform a skills gap analysis and respond accordingly with upskilling and leadership training opportunities. 
  • Develop and share tools for employers to support talent retention and recruitment. Tools include a talent retention summit, trailing partner program, and connections to on-the-job training.
  • Identify and convene community partners to address the largest impediments to talent attraction and business growth including income-aligned housing, public safety, and homelessness.
